Empowering Kenyan Communities

We work to foster economic growth and human capital development in Kenya by promoting international education opportunities. We connect Kenyan students with quality education abroad, empowering them with the skills and knowledge to contribute to a brighter future for their communities and the nation. Our efforts focus on facilitating access to leading universities and institutions, providing comprehensive guidance throughout the application process, and offering scholarships and financial aid options to make education more accessible.

Higher Education in Kenya: Market Overview

Altogether, there are about 100 universities in East Africa, both public and private, with Kenya hosting the highest number, 40.

With local Kenyan universities not being able to offer enough places for students, more students are looking into opportunities to study overseas as they also wish to improve their career prospects in the labor market after graduation.

According to University World News, 57% of 1,044 Kenyan students polled in the recent survey said that they would prefer to study in a foreign university than a local one. The number of Kenyans issued with student visas has been on the rise in recent years according to government statistics.
An increase in Kenyan schools offering A-Levels and International Baccalaureate naturally increased the number of students willing to study abroad. Those ones who obtained the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) can still apply to foreign universities but most of such students choose to go for Access Courses abroad.

Nairobi - Kenya I 05 April 2025 I Sarit Expo Centre
Nairobi is the capital and largest city of Kenya. It is an established hub for business and culture; home to thousands of Kenyan businesses and over 100 major international companies and organisations. There are at least 25 international schools in Nairobi, most of which use the ISFA events as stepping stones to further their students’ educations, and allow them to experience other cultures and environments. Furthermore, since Nairobi is the capital, it attracts many students worldwide to participate in its vibrant and varied culture, and these high achieving and aspirational students attend our events.
Mombasa - Kenya | 08 April 2025 | Voyager Hotel
A regional cultural and economic hub, Mombasa has a large port and an international airport, and is an important regional tourism and trade centre. Located on the east coast of Kenya, in Mombasa County and the former Coast Province, Mombasa's situation on the Indian Ocean made it a historical trading centre, and it has been controlled by many countries because of its strategic location.
The ex-pat community in Mombasa is considerably wide. There are many high-quality schools that are both local and international. Their willingness and determination to find the best education abroad for their students is shown by their interest and continued attendance at our ISFA Fairs.
